From Science to Nature-Based Solutions in the Chicago Region

University of Illinois — Professor Don Wuebbles

This project uses newly-developed, high-resolution, climate models to identify and assess nature-based solutions around climate extremes. Working with urban climate models and regional planning and policy experts, the research team will evaluate different solutions aimed at mitigating the adverse impacts of climate change in vulnerable Chicago communities. Then, the team will communicate results to regional municipalities in partnership with the Metropolitan Mayor’s Caucus.
