Chicago Region Trees Initiative Corporate Sustainability and Carbon Programs

Chicago Region Trees Initiative

The Chicago Region Trees Initiative (CRTI) Corporate Sustainability Partnership Program connects sustainability-minded corporations with impactful projects and dedicated partners to enable companies to achieve their goals related to areas such as environment, equity, energy, climate, and health. CRTI is seeking corporate partners that have a commitment to environmental sustainability, community engagement, capacity building, or equity through increasing and caring for the urban tree canopy.

In addition, CRTI is working with City Forest Credits to establish a carbon program that provides opportunities to invest in tree planting and preservation and enroll tree planting and preservation projects into a region-wide carbon crediting program. This program will improve the health and canopy of the urban forest in the Chicago region through increased tree planting or preservation while also generating revenue to support further planting and maintenance of Chicago’s urban forest.
